LimeSDR / LimeNET highly commended in Elektra IoT innovation of the year award
The LimeSDR and LimeNET platforms have been declared one of 2017's top three IoT innovations by an independent judging panel led by Electronics Weekly. Announced in a London-held ceremony, Lime's software-defined radio platforms received highly commended status.
The commendation follows a win at the 2017 TechWork's award, where Lime won the More than Moore award for its SDR platforms.
The 13-strong judging panel, which included industry luminaries such as Steve Furber, plus magazine editors and trade-body heads said they were: "incredibly impressed with this innovative product," saying it "open[ed] up access to IoT networking for developers" and that is was "truly advancing the sector.”
The commendation was announced by the event compère, comedian Hal Cruttenden. The black-tie event was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London.
Following the commendation Lime CEO, Ebrahim Bushehri reiterated his statement from the TechWorks Award win: “The programmability offered by Lime’s radio has so far been the missing piece in the virtualised radio access network extending software control from the core to the RAN enabling a more-flexible, upgradeable and lower-cost approach to mobile and IoT network design.”
