Guildford UK, October 24 2022 – Lime Microsystems, leading provider of field-programmable radio technology and app-enabled software defined wireless networks, today welcomes industry veteran and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) pioneer Don Faria to its board.

With over 40 years of experience in technology end markets, Faria has a wealth of experience leading technical, business, and operations functions in semiconductor and EDA as well as 10 years in venture capital and M&A. Don was one of the original members of Altera rising to Sr. VP of the company’s business groups. When Altera was acquired by Intel in 2015, Faria move to Intel Capital as an Investment Director where he drove investments, mergers, and acquisitions, and held various board positions in a range of key technology sectors. Faria also held senior management roles at Chip Express, Synopsys and QuickLogic.

This board appointment isn’t Faria’s first engagement with Lime Micro. His time at Altera included leading the company’s 2014 investment in Lime Microsystems, which enabled the company to launch mass-production of its field-programmable radio-frequency (FPRF) integrated circuits and related chipsets and push forward with a highly innovative roadmap.

“Don brings a vast wealth of experience in the semiconductor industry and Lime Micro’s target markets, from a career spanning over four decades and including board positions on some of the most impactful companies around,” says Ebrahim Bushehri, Lime Micro’s chief executive officer, of the appointment. “We welcome Don as the latest member of our board, where he will be instrumental in driving the company forward and helping us meet our strategic goals.”

“I am excited to be back engaged with Lime Microsystems,” says Don Faria. “The company has developed some impressive wireless technology including both digital RF semiconductors and complete end systems such as Lime’s Network in a Box solution. The company is now ready to significantly expand and take a leadership role in low power 5G radio technology and mini base station offerings.”
