The LimeSDR and LimeNET platforms have been declared one of 2017’s top three IoT innovations by an independent judging panel led by Electronics Weekly. Announced in a London-held ceremony, Lime’s software-defined radio platforms received highly commended status.
The commendation follows a win at the 2017 TechWork’s award, where Lime won the More than Moore award for its SDR platforms.
The 13-strong judging panel, which included industry luminaries such as Steve Furber, plus magazine editors and trade-body heads said they were: “incredibly impressed with this innovative product,” saying it “open[ed] up access to IoT networking for developers” and that is was “truly advancing the sector.”
The commendation was announced by the event compère, comedian Hal Cruttenden. The black-tie event was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London.
Following the commendation Lime CEO, Ebrahim Bushehri reiterated his statement from the TechWorks Award win: “The programmability offered by Lime’s radio has so far been the missing piece in the virtualised radio access network extending software control from the core to the RAN enabling a more-flexible, upgradeable and lower-cost approach to mobile and IoT network design.”
